The Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended the lawyer Ali Hussain again.

The top court stated that Hussain, who is also the lawmaker of Kendhoo constituency, would be suspended Tuesday henceforth until the court concludes an investigation against him.

The court is looking into comments Hussain had made over the credibility of the Supreme Court’s verdicts, which the apex court claims were in contempt of court.

Ali Hussain, who is also a member of opposition Jumhoory Party and is on the legal team of the arrested former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, had been previously suspended for a year and half. His previous suspension was lifted only last month.

The Supreme Court had earlier summoned Hussain, along with lawyer Hussain Shamee, on March 4 to take their statement regarding comments they had made on a programme of local television station Raajje TV.
